In Uttar Pradesh, 14 doctors who were working at community and primary health centres at Unnao have given their resignation over misbehaviour and mental harassment by administration officers.

However, the doctors have guaranteed that it won’t affect the COVID-related work as the discussion with the district magistrate and the chief medical officer are going on regarding their resignations.

The fourteen doctors were in-charge of CHCs and PHCs and on Wednesday evening submitted their resignation letters at the CMO office. A copy of their resignation letters is also forwarded to the director general (Health), additional chief secretary (Health) and other senior officers.

Dr Sanjiv said that their work is being reviewed by the sub divisional magistrate and block development officer level officers. The disturbed doctors also claimed that their salaries were with held several times.

Ashutosh Kumar, Chief Medical Officer, has refuted all the claims and said that the doctors have returned back to their work. In the meantime, the doctors said that they will decide on the future course of action after meeting the district magistrate and chief medical officer.
